DIY Mullet Skirt

Because I simply cannot get enough of the chic silhouette of the mullet skirt,

I just had to make my own!

I started with a maxi skirt from Gap.  

I thought it looked a bit plain, but I could see it's potential.

I tried the skirt on and added pins at the desired length of the new hemline.

I laid the skirt out flat, matching the side seams in the center.

Then I marked the cutting line for the hemline, 

keeping some extra length for the hem.

Once marked, I cut the new hemline.

I pinned the hem...

...then stitched it.

So simple!
