Homemade Mojitos

Summer is just one week away, and these delicious cocktails are a refreshing treat that's perfect for the season!

Homemade Mojitos
mint-infused simple syrup (see below for recipe)
fresh mint leaves
light rum
lime
club soda

To make one mojito, muddle one shot of mint-infused simple syrup with fresh mint leaves in a glass. Add ice cubes and a shot of rum. Top with club soda and garnish with a lime wedge.

Mint-Infused Simple Syrup
1 cup water
1 cup sugar
fresh mint leaves

Add water and sugar to a saucepan and heat until boiling. Stir until sugar dissolves, then remove the saucepan from the heat. Add a handful of fresh mint leaves to the saucepan and let the mixture steep for one hour. Strain out the leaves and store the syrup in a jar in the refrigerator until you're ready to use it.

Christmastime Cocktails

Though my favorite Christmastime activity will forever be relaxing with loved ones around the fireplace (while wearing fuzzy socks and drinking hot chocolate, of course), a close second is enjoying festive get togethers with friends and family. The food is always sure to please, and festive cocktails are always a fun treat!

Here are some cocktails that pair perfectly with the holiday season:

Classic Whiskey Sour

NOTE: I recommend quadrupling the sugar
