Spring Wardrobe Shopping

The third step in curating the perfect spring wardrobe is to hit the shops armed with your spring lookbook once you've edited your wardrobe.

Keep these tips in mind to get the most out of your next shopping excursion:

1) When perusing the racks, focus on staples that you've determined are missing from your closet and on pieces that are consistent with your spring lookbook.

2) Wear comfortable shoes that can easily be taken on and off. This will allow you to walk from store to store without discomfort and easily slip in and out of dressing rooms.

3) Style your hair and do your makeup as you normally would for a day at the office or lunch with friends. You'll feel more confident when trying on new clothes. Avoid fussy hairstyles that can get messy when changing in dressing rooms.

4) Eat a healthy lunch. I learned the hard way that fried food from your favorite fast food joint isn't the best idea when shopping, especially if you'll be trying on jeans or swim suits.

5) Focus on quality over quantity. Classic, versatile pieces that are well-made will take your wardrobe further - and last much longer - than lots of trendy items can. Add a few inexpensive trendy items to your shopping list to add flavor to your wardrobe without breaking your budget.
