It's that time of year again. The sun starts to shine a little brighter and the birds start chirping to remind me that it's time to clean out my closet.
The Spring Wardrobe Edit is the essential first step towards curating the perfect wardrobe for the year to come (and beyond!). Properly editing your wardrobe takes some time, so carve out a Saturday afternoon, lock yourself in your room with some great tunes, and get to work.
Try on everything in your wardrobe, and get rid of anything that doesn't fit properly, isn't flattering, is dated, or is stained or torn. Anything that you haven't worn in the past year is taking up valuable real estate in your closet. Edit one dresser drawer or closet rack at a time to help yourself stay focused and to avoid turning your room into a heaping mess. Create piles for items to be donated, items to be sold, and items to be thrown away.

Once your Spring Wardrobe Edit is complete, organize all items that survived the purge. One great space-saving trick for those with limited closet space is to store out-of-season clothing in under-bed storage bins or on the upper-most closet shelves. Switch out the sweaters in your drawer with shorts as the seasons change to optimize space.
Finally, when all items have been reviewed and reorganized, take stock of what you have in your wardrobe and consider what staples you may be missing. Now the real fun begins.
