DIY Cork Coasters

A friend of mine just moved to a fantastic new apartment in Philadelphia, and, as a housewarming gift, I decided to make him coasters from an artistic rendering of a Philadelphia map that I found on Pinterest.

The coasters are simple and inexpensive to make,
and could be decorated with an infinite number of designs.

Supplies
4 cork coasters (available at Michael's craft stores)
Mod Podge
Mod Podge Acrylic Sealer
4 print outs of your desired design
scissors
pencil
foam brush
old newspaper to protect your work surface

Trace the coaster on the portion of your design that you wish to attach to the coaster.

Cut out four circular designs.

Apply a thin coat of mod podge to the top of one coaster using the foam brush.

Press the circular design onto the top of the coaster.  Apply Mod Podge and attach design one coaster at a time because the Mod Podge will dry quickly.  Let coasters dry for 15 minutes.  Trim edges of design if necessary.

Apply a thin coat of Mod Podge over the design and down the edges of the coaster to seal the design to the coaster.

Let dry 30 minutes.

Holding can 12 inches from coaster, spray a thin coating of Mod Podge Acrylic Sealer over the entire coaster.  This will add a protective seal and glossy shine to the coasters.

Allow to dry 1 hour.
