Statement Shoes

Giusseppe Zanotti

These boots are NOT made for walkin'!

This spring's towering heels are not exactly conducive to walking long distances (or any distance, for that matter), but they will do all your talking for you.  The season's sky-high stunners are all about making a bold statement, be it with vibrant color, ingenuitive architecture, or exceptional detailing (or any combination of the above!).

I may be only 5' 4", but these heels add some serious height!
Prospective suitors under 5' 10" need not apply.

If you're digging the trend but trying to stay within budget, check out these fabulous finds currently available at Lulus:

And last but not least: these gorgeous suede platform sandals by Steve Madden.  Though the platform is substantial, the slender heel is dainty rather than clunky.  These are the heels of a powerful and feminine woman, and can be paired with everything from slim, cropped trousers to flowy skirts to denim cutoffs.

A note of caution: though the shoes below are the same design as the shoes above, the metallic leather has a very different vibe than the suede.  The shoes below look best when paired with cheap lingerie and a pole.

Accessorize wisely, my friends.
